Why CED coating mostly used in Auto industries?

Today i will give you a brief review on CED coating and POWDER Coating.

           Ced coating is mostly used in automobile industries and some other industries. obviously 

your mind will popup with on quetion Right?? Yes, CED coating is nothing but Cathodic Electro deposition. There are mainly two types of Coating we used to do. one is Powder coating and other is Ced coating.As we headed with Ced coating we will talk about only Ced cpating though both coating

 has their advantages and disadvantages. So lets first we will discuss about Whats processes are don in CED coating. There are two treatment we will do in Parts. one is Pre-treatment and second is ED treatment. Though you are aware of powder coating the pre-treatment is same in both cases.

Now lets discuss advantages of ced over powder coating.

Ced is known for its coating thickness which can be controlled.

• CED  coating thickness can be controlled uniformly.
• Un-Even product can coated easily.
• can run plant automatically which required less man power.
• low cost due to more utilization of paint.
• line can run adequately which tends to less harmful by fire.
• can long last up to 150-200 hours in salt.

WHAT IS PRE-TREATMENT?

Pre-Treatment is done for making surface ready for Ced coating. mainly phosphating layer we have create on surface. there are some 5-6 tanks with chemicals.
There are several following process which takes place ;

1) Decreasing
2) rinse
3)acid
4)activation
5)passivation
6)phosphating
7)Non crome sealer

   Decreasing tank will removing dust particles and grease or oil content from the part surfaces. Rinse will filled with DM water or industrial or some times RO water as per process requirement.
acid cleaning also a main part of PT lines. it will clean surface of parts by micro level. and Activation-passivation will make surface ready for phosphating. Next tank will be phosphating. it will help to activate surface for ced coating.

Now lets talk about CED bath line

2)CED BATH:

Here in Ced line there are following tanks placed which are,

1. CED BATH
2. UF1
3. UF2
4. RCDM

CED bath is mixture of Paint and Resine which is in :ratio as per industry requirement. it also contain some other chemicals like Thinner and Flow controller. next UF1 and UF2 tanks then last RCDM which is filled with RO water.

After that parts will baked in oven.
